Introduce Your Kids to Coding!
There's a lot of interest in STEM (Science Technology Engineering Maths) toys for children.
The Code & Go Robot Mouse Activity Set from Learning Resources is a great way to introduce kids to basic coding skills and foundational programming concepts in a fun way! Colby is available for purchase online here.
The goal is to help Colby, the robot mouse, navigate the maze to reach the cheese.
Build your maze and use the included coding cards to guide Colby through. Program the correct sequence and watch Colby find the cheese!
This activity teaches children how to think logically and encourages them to find the "best" path for Colby.
This is coding in its most basic form- and provides the foundational understanding and core skills for children to build on!
You can build different set-ups ranging from basic, simple ones to more difficult and complex challenges.
Children as young as 4 can get started with Colby!
As children progress and get a better understanding of the concepts of coding, they can try to program the fewest number of moves for Colby to reach the cheese.
Children will make mistakes but key to the learning process is for them to experiment and re-code the sequence to try again.
To make things even more fun and challenging, you can add another player and see who can get to the cheese first.
Just pair up Colby with his best robot mouse friend Jack (sold separately- available online here) for exciting head-to-head match ups!
